Windows 8 Compatibility Update
Sage 50 Accounting 2014 will be Windows 8 compatible. Previous releases (including 2013) are not supported for Windows 8; however, Sage 50 / Peachtree will run on a Windows 8 machine, per the notes below.
Previous releases of Sage 50 / Peachtree will run on a Windows 8 machine, but it is not a supported operating system. There are a couple of known issues with running it in a Windows 8 environment. The E-mail Writer will not work, so you will not be able to email directly out of the program. Also, the Automatic Backup Scheduler does not work. These are the only issues that we are aware of at this time. However, because it has not been tested and is not supported, it is possible that there are other things that will not function correctly.
As a workaround for your emailing issue, what you can possibly do is download a PDF print driver. When you want to send an email to a customer, you would print the invoice using the PDF print driver. This will then "print" the invoice as a PDF file, which you can save to your computer. Once the PDF is saved, you can then attach that PDF file to an email.

I purchased Sage 50 Pro Accounting running it on a Windows 8.1 machine. The known issue re: non-functioning email writer still does not work. Although Sage's online offers resolutions like an Outlook add-in to integrate with Sage, sending forms via email do not work. As Mr. Hambsch noted, a PDF print driver does the trick, but it's an extra step that should not be required given the price-point for the software.
