Setting Up Quantity Discounts in Sage 50

With Quantity Discounts you can set up discounts for items based on the quantity sold.  For example, you could set up a 10% discount if customers purchase XX or more of a certain inventory item. 

You set up quantity discounts in Maintain Quantity Discounts and then go to Maintain Inventory Items and select the quantity discount to use on each applicable inventory item.  After you set up quantity discounts and apply them to inventory items the sales price will automatically be discounted on sales transactions for those items.

To set up quantity discounts click Prices on the Inventory & Services Navigation Center and Set Up Quantity Discounts.  Use the Setup Advisor located on the right-hand side of the screen to help you set up your quantity discounts or select the Help button on the screen.

Sage Summit 2015 Annual Conference

We attended Sage Summit 2015 from July 27-30th at the New Orleans Convention Center and I wanted to share a few highlights:

1.     First of all I want to give kudos to Sage for bringing in some great keynote speakers again this year!  Three years ago I wasn’t recommending the conference to our customers because I didn’t feel the value was there but for 2 years in a row now the price to attend has decreased ($99 this yr.) and the quality of the speakers and training sessions has improved greatly!  Highlighted by General Colin  Powell and Deepak Chopra there were a number of motivating and thought provoking speakers that energized the almost 8,000 attendees this year!

2.     Next, it was very apparent the new Sage management team (all have joined within the last 9 months) – Stephen Kelly (CEO), Jodi Uecker (President) and Rich Spring (EVP) are driving the Sage organization to be much more innovative and to do it much faster!  They are also much more committed to the partner community than the previous regime so we look forward to working with them in a very positive manner moving forward.

3.       A few highlights specific to Sage 50 U.S. Edition:

a.       Mobile Sales – the capabilities of the cloud based mobile sales app have continued to grow – LEARN MORE

b.      Sage Drive – the ability to easily share your live data with your bookkeeper, accountant, CPA or other external workers through the cloud is expected to be available by year end

c.       Sage Payroll Solutions (SPS) – Sage acquired Paychoice about a year ago and now that they’ve gotten their products fully integrated there are new and improved payroll solutions including the ability to link with Sage Time for time-tracking capabilities …  LEARN MORE

d.      Sage Payments – the merchant services capabilities are becoming more and more integrated within the Sage 50 interface – with the release of Sage 50 2016 you can directly process returns without having to go outside of the program and by early next year you’ll be able to see your credit card processing details from within the Sage 50 interface.  LEARN MORE
